Planning your reception
The perfect wedding day takes some homework and pre-planning. Unless you have seen us at an event previously, the first meeting we have with you is when you interview our company for the entertainment at your wedding reception and we share our presentation with you. We find out what style of DJ and reception you are looking for. We also walk you through various older and newer traditions that you may or may not want to have on your wedding day.
There is also information provided to you so you can make these decisions throughout the year before your wedding. When you hire us, you will have access to our custom event planning forms where you can manage as little or as much as you'd like in your event. Then a second meeting (either in person or a conference call) is scheduled about 3-4 weeks before the wedding. This is when we sit down and go over all of the details of your wedding. This is very extensive so we can handle your entire reception professionally but with a personal touch from start to finish.
In the meantime, since this is our full time business, we are available throughout your planning process for questions about your reception.
Coordination
As the bride & groom, you are going to be the center of attention with your guests for much of the day. Your Parents are usually the co-hosts of the evening. As an unofficial coordinator of the day, we are responsible for a smooth flow of events from the introductions to the last dance. With some advance homework done by both of us, we can relieve this coordinating stress from you and your family. This gives you as much time as possible with your friends and family without wasting any time worrying about what's coming up next.
Master of Ceremonies
As the master of ceremonies, we will professionally announce all of the receptions events. This is done with class and never meant to embarrass or humiliate anyone. By default, the master of ceremonies is the spokesman for the bride & groom at the reception. That's why it's so important that we set the proper and appropriate tone for you and your family.
Music
While anybody can push a button and play music, it takes experience to balance the musical selection for different ages of your guests, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, along with good dancing songs versus listening music. This must all be done while keeping the taste and style of the bride and groom in mind. The balance of good dance music and proper volume control determines a large part of a successful wedding reception. It also relies on professional sound quality, and the DJ's ability to read and motivate your guests.
In ten years from now, you'll barely remember the cake, the flowers, the favors or the food. Both of you along with your guests will however, long remember a beautiful and fun party atmosphere, along with a reception that was smooth and well planned.
