Block Party and Outdoor Graduation Events

Block parties and Graduation Parties are a lot of fun and a great way to meet and visit with your friends, family and neighbors. Everyone can join in and provide lots of food, ice cold soda pop and fun and games for all. Entertaining at a block party or graduation is like a Wedding and a Grade School Dance at the same time. You have different age groups and music tastes like you do at a wedding, and you have all the fun and games like at a grade school dance, but more. Suggestions that may help in the success of your block party. If there are younger children on the block (under 12) you may want to have events geared toward them for the first 2 hours. Also, small prizes such as things from the dollar store, Target or OrientalTrading.com are great. (If the weather is hot, freeze-pops are quite a popular give away).
| Games and events can include: - Limbo - YMCA - Chicken Dance - Hokey Pokey - Cha Cha Slide - Tequila (for a hoola hoop contest) Also, some current top 40 music can be played in the background while these events take place: . Hawaiian Twine Twist (or spoons) . Egg Toss . Water Balloon Toss . Bike Parade . Pet Parade . Mummy Wrap . Water Bucket Relay . Life Saver or Orange Pass ... and much more. These events and games can be played again later for adults only. Or when you originally perform them with the kids, have the adults join in, such as a parent/child water balloon toss. What kid doesn't want to soak their parent with a water balloon, or be the envy of the neighbors when they win a contest?

After your "kid-geared" events, I'm sure you'd like to play music for the adults. 70's and 80's dance, current steppin' tunes and classic R & B are very popular, as well as sing along type songs such as I Will Survive, Sweet Caroline and Margaritaville. With our on-line music list, your group can easily pick their favorites. It's also a good idea to make removable nametags so that people (friends, family and neighbors) from one end of the block, know who the names are of the people at the other end of the block. It also makes for a good ice-breaker. REMEMBER, summer is short (only about 15 weekends) so book us early to ensure that we will be there for your fun in the sun.
